Dr. Mara Doughty Seals - Veterinarian/Owner
I joined Hill-Dale Veterinary Hospital in January 2004, became partner in 2006, and full ownership in 2016. After completing my undergraduate studies at UW-Madison, I earned a doctor of veterinary medicine degree in 1996 from Iowa State University. I completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC in 1997. I moved to Wisconsin and practiced in Marinette for several years before falling in love this part of the state.
I enjoy internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry and animal behavior. My memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association. I have done committee work for several years for the National Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. In my spare time, I am a gym rat and love to cycle when the weather cooperates. My husband and I adore Baraboo and all the cool people we are lucky enough to meet.
Dr. Samantha Steinich - Associate Veterinarian
I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine and joined the practice in 2013. I also obtained my undergraduate degree at the UW, where my love for animal care continued to grow. From a young age, I knew veterinary medicine was my passion and spent my time during vet school volunteering at a local humane society. I am a member of the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. I also work closely with community outreach by teaching grade school and high school students about veterinary medicine. My clinical interests include preventative care, cardiology, behavior, oncology, and surgery.
When not at the clinic, I enjoy exploring what the beautiful Baraboo area has to offer through hiking and road biking. My husband and I welcomed our first child this past September, a baby boy named Elliot. We also share our home with two dogs, a rescued German Shepherd mix named Apollo, and a rambunctious Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever named Quinn.
Dr. Michael Dobbert - Associate Veterinarian
I am a life-long Wisconsin resident and have loved working with animals for over 20 years. Previously, while earning my undergraduate degree from the UW-Madison, I worked at the Milwaukee County Children’s Zoo. I then conducted research for multiple years before deciding to return to school and obtain my DVM. I have greatly enjoyed practicing small animal medicine in the Baraboo area for the past several years. I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Information Network.
When not at the hospital, I enjoy the beautiful Baraboo area by hiking, biking, camping, grilling and gardening at home. My wife, toddler daughter, newborn son and I share our home with two cats, Tony and Maxine, as well as Rococo, a Shepherd-Lab mix, and Ralphie, a brindle Pug-French Bulldog mix.
