Michael Dobbert, DVM
Chief of Staff
Michael has enjoyed practicing veterinary medicine in the Baraboo area since 2013 and joined HDVC as an associate veterinarian in 2016. Michael has over 25 years of experience working with animals, starting as a high school student at an AAHA-accredited practice in Milwaukee, conducting research at UW, and working at the
Milwaukee Zoo.
Michael felt a connection with animals from a very young age and developed a strong desire to help both the animals and the people who care for them. At HDVC, he genuinely enjoys developing and nurturing long-term relationships with our clients and their pets. Being able to hear that a cherished pet is feeling better and having the ability to extend that loving relationship for as many years as possible defines career fulfillment for him. He particularly enjoys performing dental surgery, soft tissue surgery, and orthopedic procedures. "Practicing high-quality
medicine, anesthetic procedures, and preventive care sets us apart. We have a highly trained team of caring individuals who are among the best in the industry."
Being a husband and a proud father of three keeps him busy outside of Hill-Dale. His family enjoys hiking, camping, gardening, and visiting the zoo. His furry family includes Ralphie, a Pug/French Bulldog mix who sounds like a dinosaur during nail trims, Marshy, an unusual but friendly FIV-positive cat, and Rococo, a Rottweiler/Shepherd mix who was rescued from a garbage bag in Missouri.
